Donato Piccolo is an eclectic artist, capable and skilled in using all media, from painting to sculpture to installation, with a masterful use of technology, with the aim to explore natural, physical and mechanical phenomena and to turn them into emotional states, sculptures and machines, forms and processes.
The link with science and physics is indissoluble and is part of the knowledge through which Donato Piccolo creates visions, invents machines and implants: live systems activated by the creative spark; holistic mechanisms that follow probabilistic laws that bring chaos to its origins: in ourselves, in the perceptual state.

He participated in the 52 and 54th Venice Biennale and exhibited in important museums in Italy, Europe and the United States: MACRO, Rome / Cini Foundation, Venice (Italy) / Luciano Benetton collection, Torino (Italy) / Fondation Francès, Senlis (France) / Galleria Civica, Modena (Italy) / Boghossian Foundation, Brussels (Belgium) / Beyond Museum, Seoul / George Kolbe Museum, Berlin (Germany) / ISCP, New York (USA) / SMart, Shanghai (China)

Our collaboration started with the exhibition ›› Butterfly Effect within the trilogy Bachelor Artwork in Spoleto (2016) in collaboration with Museum Palazzo Collicola and 59° Festival dei 2 Mondi. On January 2017 I curated Donato Piccolo's participation at the 10° Cyfest in St Petersburg. On October and November 2017 I will curate the "Thinking the unthinkable" project that will come through the artist's residency at NCCA (Kronstadt, St Petersburg) and his solo show at the Youth Education Center of The State Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg opening on 14th November 2017.
